One Day at Worthy Farm
One standout piece of creative content I developed for BBC Glastonbury was a series of 8-bit illustrations that depicted a typical day at Worthy Farm, released in the lead-up to the festival. The first slide was animated, designed to build excitement and anticipation among the audience, followed by 3 still illustrations. The visuals were packed with easter eggs that only true Glasto veterans would recognise, such as the ever-present Wolves FC flag, Elton John casually reading The Glastonbury Free Press, Michael Eavis with his iconic red truck, and Chris Martin peeking from behind a tree, as if trying to sneak his way onto the Pyramid Stage (again).
This piece sparked a lot of conversation on social media, with Glasto fans spotting the hidden details and sharing their excitement. Even the official Wolves Instagram account got excited by the appearance of their flag. The nostalgic 8-bit style combined with Glastonbury-specific references made this content a huge hit, creating lots of excitement leading up to the festival.
Stage Timings
I created a series of animated lineup graphics to promote BBC’s coverage of Glastonbury on iPlayer. These graphics were designed to be visually engaging and dynamic, helping to showcase the festival's lineup and encourage fans to tune in. The animations helped to build anticipation and excitement for the performances, driving viewership and engagement across BBC's digital platforms.
Pyramid Stage Highlight Reels
For post-show content, I created reels that celebrated two of the 2023 headliners, Foo Fighters and Lizzo. Both reels were crafted using a blend of photography, video footage, and motion graphics to capture the energy and best moments of their iconic performances. The reels helped bring to life the highlights from both sets, giving fans a visual keepsake to relive the excitement and keep the conversation going after the weekend.
Iconic Glastonbury Headliners
During 2020, the BBC aired iconic Glastonbury sets across BBC iPlayer during the festival weekend, named The Glastonbury Experience. To help promote this, I illustrated a series of posters that were shared across the BBC’s social platforms. Each poster was designed to evoke the spirit of Glastonbury, with vibrant and colourful artwork that captured the energy of each iconic performance. This helped generate excitement among fans during a year when the festival couldn’t take place in person.
